Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Welcome to the newly redesigned website of Local 2 of Washington, Idaho, and Montana. This new website should provide improved communications to our members, contractors, and the public. A simple resource to stay well versed on news, events and actions you can take to strengthen our trade.

In the spirit of providing up-to-date communications, I present to you an update on where we stand in the receivership, and more broadly, where things stand with the Pacific Northwest Administrative District Council and Local 2 WA/ID/MT.

The 2018 WOMEN BUILD NATIONS (WBN) conference is making its way to the West Coast!! This year the conference will be held in Seattle WA! The North America’s Building Trade Unions (NABTU) is pleased to announce our local co-sponsors, ANEW and Washington Build Trades. With this move to the West Coast, we anticipate attendance of 2,000 or more tradeswomen.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2018 picnic held on September 22nd at Vasa Park. While there were a couple bouts of rain, it didn't stop us from having a great time. Connecting with members, eating good food, and winning prizes was what the day was about.

Thank you to everyone who came out to help, support, volunteer, and participate in the regional qualifier round. The event was held on September 14th at the WWMT Training Center. Congratulations to bricklayer David Wernette (Joshua Carey tended) for taking first place and heading to Las Vegas in January for the national championship.

Saturday September 8th marked the start of this year’s training with an apprenticeship orientation. A large turnout of the men and women enrolled in the program gave a look into the strength and future growth of our trade.
