News

Hi there,

BAC Local 1 WA/AK members you are invited to a Zoom meeting.
When: July 13, 2023 05:30 PM Pacific Time (US and Canada)

What does it mean if we go on strike June 1?

As of June 7th, all members should be back to work. All contracts have been settled and more details will be mailed out to our members later in the month.

Earlier this week, Secretary-Treasurer Sanden along with our election committee verified and counted the ballots for the Constitution and By-Laws this Local will be operating under going forward. I am pleased to inform the membership that the Constitution has been accepted (95% voted approve), and additionally the new check-off dues structure was passed (91% voted approve). The copy of the constitution that was originally mailed out to everyone can now be for official reference.

**UPDATE**

The PRO Act has passed the house of representatives with overwhelming support. Thank you to everyone that did their part and made their voice heard.

For too long, workers have been punished for coming together to form a union - their legal right in this country. Our labor laws desperately need to change. Click the link below and tell Congress to pass the PRO Act now and respect workers’ freedom to organize.
