Charles "Bob" Iyall for Olympia Port Commissioner

The Management Committe of this Local is endorsing Mr. Iyall for Olympia Port Commissioner and urges all members for their support and vote. Bob Iyall is a (42) year member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 1 and supports living wage job opportunities. Mr. Iyall is a Nisqually Tribal Elder and the Chief Executive Officer of Medicine Creek Enterprise Corporation where, in cooperation with the Board of Directors, he oversees the day-to-day management of all enterprises owned by the Nisqually Indian Tribe including the Nisqually Red Wind Casino.

Bob has a proven executive management track record and has successfully managed Tribal enterprises to provide maximum benefit to the Tribe. Bob is a graduate of Tumwater High School and holds a BS degree in Business Management and an MBA. Bob has developed Corporate Social Responsibility and environmental stewardship policy to recognize and implement, while conducting business within the MCEC organization. Mr. Iyall looks forward to serving as District #2, Port Commissioner, having grown up in the community he cares deeply about.


The key issues to implement during his term as Port Commissioner:


1. Define and focus the purpose/vision of the port ensuring benefits to all communities in Thurston County.
2. Review and revise the Port’s strategic plan to focus operations, in a post-pandemic world.
3. Work effectively with local governments to properly accomplish the Port’s stated requirements to heal parts of the local environment.
4. Build operations on a sound financial basis, maximizing community benefit and minimizing tax-payer support.
